10-Day Uzbekistan Itinerary: Cities, Desert and Mountains
A balanced ten-day Uzbekistan itinerary combining Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and a nature experience.
Ten days gives travelers enough time to experience Uzbekistan's major Silk Road cities while adding a nature or village component.
Days 1–2 can focus on Tashkent. Explore the Old City, markets, selected museums and modern areas. Keep the first day flexible around international arrival.
Days 3–4 are ideal for Samarkand. Spend time at Registan, Gur-e-Amir, Shah-i-Zinda, Bibi-Khanym and Afrasiab. Add a craft workshop or local market visit.
Days 5–6 can be dedicated to Bukhara. Explore Lyabi-Hauz, Poi-Kalyan, trading domes, the Ark Fortress and smaller historic streets. Leave time for crafts and food.
Day 7 can be used for travel toward Khiva, depending on the current transport schedule. Because the western route requires planning, verify connections before finalizing the itinerary.
Day 8 is for Khiva and Ichan-Kala. Start early and stay for sunset if possible.
Days 9–10 can be adapted. One option is to return toward Tashkent for departure. Another is to replace part of the classic route with Aydarkul and Nuratau if nature is a higher priority.
A private tour makes it possible to change the balance. History lovers may want more time in museums; active travelers may prefer hiking or horseback riding.
The itinerary should not be treated as a rigid formula. Flight times, train schedules, seasonal conditions and hotel availability all influence the best sequence.
Uzora Travel can create a ten-day route with private transport, trains, guides and accommodation arranged around your travel dates and interests.
