Uzbekistan Travel Checklist: What to Pack Before You Go
A practical pre-trip checklist covering documents, clothing, health, electronics and daily travel essentials.
A good packing list for Uzbekistan depends on the season and itinerary, but a few essentials are useful for almost every traveler.
Start with documents. Carry your passport, travel insurance details, flight information, hotel confirmations and copies of important documents. Check current entry requirements before departure.
Clothing should match the season. Spring and autumn call for layers; summer requires light clothing, sun protection and breathable fabrics; winter requires warmer layers.
Comfortable walking shoes are essential because many historic sites are explored on foot. If you plan to hike in the Nuratau Mountains, bring proper walking footwear rather than city sneakers.
A reusable water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are useful, particularly for desert and summer travel.
For religious sites, pack clothing that allows you to dress respectfully. A lightweight extra layer can be useful.
Electronics should include chargers, adapters if needed, a power bank and extra storage for photographs. Travelers visiting remote areas should not rely entirely on mobile internet.
A small daypack is useful for water, documents, snacks and camera equipment during excursions.
If you are staying in a yurt or mountain guesthouse, bring a warm layer for evenings and any personal toiletries you require.
Pack light where possible. Uzbekistan itineraries often involve trains, transfers and walking, so a manageable suitcase or backpack makes the journey easier.
Uzora Travel can advise on route-specific preparation when arranging a tailor-made itinerary, particularly for hiking, desert and rural experiences.
